Meet the Team

Hello!

Vera Wine is owned by partners Florence and Josh, and together with their amazing and talented team, run a little bottle shop in Hamilton, NSW.

Josh worked in the coffee industry before falling in love with wine while working at Dinner by Heston in Melbourne. Josh learnt from the best at Bar Liberty and then jumped into retail working for Blackhearts & Sparrows.

Florence was born into the wine industry, growing up in pubs and bars around Melbourne. After studying winemaking, WSET Diploma and working in hospitality, Florence made the move to wine retail.

After moving with their children to Newcastle post-lockdown in 2021, Florence and Josh realised the local passion for minimal intervention styles of wine. The idea of 'Vera' grew quickly and materialised in 2022. 

The incredible team also includes Stephen who we look forward to introducing you to in the coming weeks. 

When visiting the Hamilton store, you may also be greeted their dog, Nigella, and baby Pearl, who tend to hang about as well.
