Aligote

Aligote is the perfect summer drinking white wine! It shares its home in north-eastern France with Chardonnay and has been historically sidelined in the latters favour. But, contrary to its position as Burgundy's "other" grape, when handled with love and care (and good clonal material) it is absolutely divine.

While sipping back a glass of Aligote, expect tart flavours of citrus, white flowers and apple, ripe and rounded. Pair with anything as delicate as sashimi to as substantial as a roast chicken. There is subtlety and substance here.
