Sitting within Vougeot, in the Côte de Nuits, Charles Van Canneyt and his team have exceptional terroirs to work with. Humbly, they try to work as close to nature as possible, listening to it and respecting it. I present to you today the 2022 vintage of Domaine Hudelot-Noëllat and the negoce label Charles van Canneyt.

After only being founded in 1962 (a relatively youthful family legacy of wine) by Alain Hudelot, there has been an astronomical rise in renown for this Domaine. Now with Charles van Canneyt at the helm, the 10 hectares of vines continue to be well tended and crafted into powerful and exciting wines each vintage. Spread over 4 villages and 15 cuvées, Charles has access to a wide selection of plots from Vosne-Romanée, Vougeot, Chambolle-Musigny, and Nuits-Saint-Georges. 

Receiving 90+ ratings for all of his Village, Premier Cru and Grand Cru wines is a sure sign that these wines are something to savour. As for his negoce label too, with the quality of winemaking and growing access to important plots of the region, these are wines that excite me. Gaining access to top plots is no small feat, and with an established winemaker like Charles there is no holding back these powerhouse pinots.
