Collection: Tony Bornard
Tony Bornard is the somewhat recent custodian of the Bornard estate, with his father Phillipe stepping back in 2017. He had previously struck out on his own in 2013 and with the passing of the batton in '17, the vineyard holdings were merged for around 11 hectares of biodynamically farmed vineyards.
The wines from Tony have gone from strength to strength since we first starting tasting them, stylistically eschewing a lot of traditionalist practices for lighter, fresher and youthful wines - so it is of great anticipation that the new release has finally arrived on the shores of Newcastle.
In a region dominated by the powerful white wines of Savagnin and Chardonnay, Bornard has an equal reputation for his light and bright red wines of Ploussard, Trousseau and Pinot Noir that are as beguiling and unique as the whites, and a bucket list wine to add to the list.
