Château Haut-Bages Libéral 5ème GCC 2020 half bottle (375ML)

The 2020 Château Haut-Bages Libéral 5ème Grand Cru Classé Half Bottle (375ml) is an outstanding Pauillac from one of the Médoc’s most improved and compelling classified-growth estates. This is a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon and 22% Merlot, matured for 16 months in a combination of new oak, one-year-old barrels and TAVA amphorae.
The bouquet is deep, vivid and beautifully layered, opening with aromas of blackcurrant, cassis, black cherry and dark plum, followed by violet, rose petal and subtle orange peel. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied, concentrated and remarkably polished, with layers of cassis, blackberry and dark cherry supported by fine, silky tannins. The wine has impressive density, but its freshness and acidity keep the palate energetic rather than heavy.
